HORSE SOLDIER COMMANDER’S SELECT V

This Commanders Select is our fifth limited edition release, honoring the 5th Special Forces Group, known as “The Legion”. We have further chosen to honor them by using our 5 year old bourbon whiskey and bottling it at a robust 55% ABV.

This is our Premium Straight Bourbon Whiskey maturated for an additional two years in Tawny Port Casks (Ex-Red Wine Casks, 225L. French Oak, used to age premium Tawny Port for 7 years).

This product has a traditional bourbon mash bill (Corn, Rye, Malted Barley) that’s supported and softened by residual Tawny Port notes. Tawny Port is a complex fortified wine that has undergone oxidation through barrel aging.

With a full-bodied mouthfeel and initial Rye spice, this whiskey is balanced out in its complexities, propelling toward a delicate yet everlasting finish with a slight effervescence and minerality. Please try slowly diluting with water to open and recognize the vast flavor potential.

Expect notes of Chewy Caramel, Candied Orange Peel, Rainier Cherry, Rye, Candied Pecans, White Pepper, Bartlett Pear, Umeboshi Plum, Cacao Butter, Maple Sap, Virginia Tobacco, Raisin Pudding.
