Our team has been involved in every major conflict since the Vietnam War. Our next mission is to serve Horse Soldier bourbon, our legacy in a bottle.
Legendary men, Legendary Spirits
Much of our brotherhood was forged in fire during the first days after the 9/11 attacks. Immediately following this affront on our nation, the USA responded with a daring insertion of small teams of Green Berets into northern Afghanistan. The Northern Alliance successfully overthrew Mazar-i-Sharif, a Taliban stronghold, with the support of these brave men. This region’s inhospitable, mountainous terrain made efforts and enemy engagements on wild Afghan horses a necessity for one Special Operations team (ODA595). Nicknamed the “Horse Soldiers”, all these brave men are honored today by America’s Response Monument overlooking “Ground Zero” in New York City.
We make history and continue to live legendary lives by instilling family values, adventurous spirits, and pride into Horse Soldier Bourbon Whiskey.

2020 St. Petersburg
We couldn’t travel for an adventure this year, so we figured we would go big. We are proud to open the doors of The Urban Stillhouse in St. Petersburg, Florida. Come join us. Cheers!
2019 France
Our team and families were privileged to jump from the first two C-47 aircraft over Normandy, France on the 75th Anniversary of D-Day. What a privilege! Santé!
2018 Mexico
Sailing to Mexico from Florida gave us an opportunity to defeat our sailing rivals in a 456-mile journey to Isla Mujeres. Hey, Tequila! Salud!
2017 Cuba
Our team sailed in the first race to Cuba from mainland USA in 50 years; an adventurous path to learn from local rum distilleries and enjoy their spirit! Salud!
2016 Ireland
In Ireland, we were educated in the art of “triple-distillation” from master distillers and toured Kilbeggan®, the oldest licensed distillery in Ireland(1757 a.d.) Sláinte mhaith!
2015 Utah
Rock-hopping and camping in Moab, Utah allowed our band of brothers to gather and coordinate the path forward in the whiskey business!
2014 Yellowstone
Immediately following a 10-day journey on horseback through Yellowstone National Park, visiting family-operated distilleries ignited our passion for craft distilling and farm-to-bottle practices.
2016 Scotland
Our Scotland adventure enabled us to learn the art of whiskey production from master single malt distillers. Our time at Wolfburn® was especially memorable! Slàinte Mhath!

Our collaborative distilling process at Middle West Spirits gives our distillers access to multiple stills, invaluable insight and experience from world-class operators. Ohio offers the ideal climate for aging our bourbon.
St. Petersburg, FL
Our small-batch American Vendome stills create artisanal rums, vodka and gins. Visit our urban stillhouse in Florida for an immersive distillery experience, including two state-of-the-art bars, educators, bourbon-inspired dining, and more!
Somerset, KY
Our journey has brought us home. Many of us are from the Bluegrass state, and naturally our call to arms was sounded during a training mission on the Cumberland River after the first WTC tower was hit. Pulaski County will be the location of Horse Soldier’s flagship production plant in the near future.

The New York City Port Authority has donated to our team steel recovered from the World Trade Center after 9/11.
Each bottle of Horse Soldier is formed in molds of this steel to honor the spirit of resilience and service that arose after the attack on our nation.

Response Monument
America’s Response Monument is dedicated to the service members of America’s Special Forces and their response to the 9/11 attacks. The Horse Soldier brand is a dedication to the bronze statue located in Liberty Park at “Ground Zero” New York City.
